What we’re looking for

At Ideaware, we are looking for a QA Tester to work with one of our clients located in Austin, Texas, who are a profitable, bootstrapped, and fast-growing startup looking to expand their product offering with the feedback of thousands of happy customers. The QA Tester is responsible for much of the manual testing of the product. You’ll use your keen attention to detail to discover issues and document steps-to-reproduce for the Engineering team. You’ll partner with the QA Automation Engineer on the overall testing process and strategy and will help create and maintain the entire test suite. You’ll also work with other internal staff to triage problems and determine the severity of potential bugs.

Your daily work primarily involves manually testing various aspects of our product, identifying and documenting test cases, running acceptance and regression tests, and writing up bug cards in Jira for production issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform acceptance and manual regression testing.
  • Create and maintain manual regression test cases/suites.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured defects and test plans.
  • Review and triage issues reported by internal users and customers.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test suites.
  • Create acceptance criteria based on product requirements.

Qualifications

  • Prior work in a QA Tester role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Jira or other Kanban board-style software.
  • Experience testing web-based applications.
  • Experience using Chrome Dev Tools for inspecting browser errors and issues.

Bonus Points:

  • Prior remote, work-from-home experience in a QA Tester role.
  • Prior work in a SaaS company.
  • Experience with running tools and scripts from the command line.
  • Experience with Cypress, Selenium, Protractor, or other automated testing tools.
  • Experience using Postman to test APIs.
  • Knowledge of SQL and how to run database queries.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and/or Node.js.

What we’re looking for

Ideaware is looking for a Manual Software Quality Tester to evaluate web applications and identify defects or potential failures. We seek an accomplished, detail-oriented, web-savvy software testing professional with experience analyzing individual products and specifications who develop, write and run tests manually or with tools.

Having previous experience in management is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing manual testing, including exploratory, system, regression, compatibility, or integration testing.

Responsibilities

  • Write, execute, and maintain test cases.
  • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope.
  • Document and evaluate test results and defects, track and manage defects, and work with the Development team to troubleshoot issues and evaluate fixes.
  • Work directly with developers to understand the systems being tested.
  • Perform cross-browser testing to ensure a good look and feel on multiple screen sizes and devices.
  • Keep the issue tracking tool up to date and give a status of all current in-progress tasks.

Qualification

  • +3 years of experience in the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Demonstrates proven IT knowledge of the analysis processes and functions.
  • Strong collaboration, multi-tasking, and organization skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, Speak English fluently and clearly.
  • Demonstrates proven ability to prioritize team tasks.
  • Works independently.
  • Project Management skills are a plus.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone with a balance of QA analyst skills and technical experience in automation code. The ideal candidate is a QA Analyst and developer.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll help build tools and services that immediately impact the workflow of developers using Cypress.
  • Design and write test automation scripts using test automation frameworks.
  • Understand complex requirements, break them down into comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Find, reproduce, and report comprehensive bugs.
  • Find bugs or inconsistencies in the documentation before writing a code.
  • Confirm fixes when they are ready, contribute to the test automation suite, raise quality concerns and red flags.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional QA experience.
  • Hands-on experience using Cypress.io for API and E2E testing.
  • Experience and understanding of CI/CD systems – Jenkins.
  • Experience using bug tracking and ticketing systems – Jira.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and general DB knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Critical thinking skills to recommend original and productive ideas.
  • Endless attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accessibility testing and web applications.
